News and information for IMRs
This section of the ISA Web site features news and information that's important to Independent Manufacturer Representatives. It's where IMRs can find news about upcoming events, educational opportunities, links to articles of special interest and more.
IMRs can win the American Eagle Award
The American Eagle Value-Added Distributor/Manufacturer/Independent Manufacturer Representative Awards carry great prestige. One distributor, one manufacturer and one independent manufacturer rep will be selected from among the many entrants. The winners must demonstrate exceptional documented cost savings or productivity improvements for the end-user. Different from the American Eagle Value-Added Partner Award, these three awards recognize the independent efforts of a distributor, manufacturer and independent manufacturer rep. The documented cost savings and/or productivity improvement entry may be for a single event or an annual program.

Get the most out of your reps
It’s no secret that the independent representative/principal relationship is one of the rockiest in the manufacturing world. Once they are signed on, these reps are often forgotten. They are offered no orientation, no visit to the principal’s company, no strategic rep plan and no real commitment on the part of the principal. There are things that can be done to make sure that the rep/principal relationship turns into a win/win for both parties...
Outsourcing field sales (PDF). A special advertising section that appeared in Fortune magazine explaining the value manufacturers' reps bring to the channel.

Volunteer opportunities
Can you give a half day to promote the outsourced sales profession and to raise the visibility of outsourced sales professionals with the academic community? Volunteer to participate in a Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon sales competition.
Pi Sigma Epsilon (www.pse.org) is the national undergraduate college fraternity for marketing, sales management, and sales. At its regional conferences, the group holds a Pro-Am Sell-A-Thon sales competition that allows undergraduate college students with aspirations for a sales career to compete with their peers by preparing and presenting a sales presentation.
Reps members can give back to their profession by volunteering as coaches and judges at these regional competitions. Reps can volunteer for a half day (8:30 a.m. to noon) as a sales coach for a Pi Sigma Epsilon student contestant or a full day (8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) as both a coach and judge.
