How does your company’s compensation plan compare to your peers?
Do you ever wonder how your firm’s employee compensation package stacks up to others in the industry? To help you evaluate your situation, ISA is co-sponsoring the 2006 Employee Compensation Study conducted by the Profit Planning Group. Approximately 2,500 firms in 35 distribution lines of trade will participate. If you participate in the survey, you can purchase the results for just $50. All other companies will pay $150.
The value of this survey is threefold:
• The results help you determine where your compensation plan stands not only within the industry but also compared to other companies in distribution.
• The data helps ISA respond to legislative proposals regarding government-mandated health and leave benefits for employees.
• The information helps companies that must prove their compensation is “reasonable” within the constraints of the Internal Revenue Code.
The report will come in two sections. The Detailed ISA Industry Report (Volume I) will contain information on the ISA companies taking part in the survey. This section provides information on both executive and employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, commissions and perks. It also includes details on fringe benefit packages, such as retirement programs, health insurance, vacations and the like (approximately 20 pages long in a PDF format.) This report is being offered free of charge to all ISA home offices regardless of participation.
The Cross-Industry Report (Volume II) takes advantage of the large sample of firms that participated to provide information at its most detailed level by geographic area (down to specific cities) and by volume category. This report is far more detailed and comprehensive (approximately 170 pages long). This report will be available in an Excel format. This format allows you to quickly access only the information you will need and will be much more user friendly.
Volume I and Volume II will be mailed to all ISA companies that participated at the nominal fee of $50 (to be billed in April). All other ISA companies that did not participate may purchase this report for $150.
To guarantee complete confidentiality of your company’s data, all responses will be sent directly to and compiled by Profit Planning Group, an outside organization that specializes in survey research. Only the aggregate results of the survey will be released.
To ensure a comprehensive report we need your participation. Attached is the 2006 Compensation Study questionnaire (provided in both Excel and PDF formats). It is designed to take a minimal amount of time to complete. Be sure to send your response by March 1, 2006. |
