Tom Berger to present at Lean U

Former ISA president Tom Berger will present “Leaning the Supply Chain: Working with Vendors to Drive Out Costs” at the upcoming Lean University–Las Vegas conference Sept. 25-27 at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Berger, president of Omaha, Neb.-based distributor Fuchs Machinery Inc., has extensive experience in lean manufacturing and distribution. Since 2004, he has led the way for lean distribution, helping customers implement lean processes on the plant floor and bringing lean facilitators into his facility to teach his employees.

Since embracing lean, Fuchs Machinery revamped its award-winning cost documentation program to better reflect lean principles. Focusing on lean principles has also helped the company differentiate itself from its competitors.

Lean University – Las Vegas features three days of how-to workshops and best-practice case studies.

Presentations, complete with practical examples, will cover a range of materials. Manufacturers and distributors will learn to:
• Identify best practices from other facilities to use in your own (one idea can save thousands)
• Network with other lean practitioners and share valuable knowledge
• Listen to terrific presenters from the best lean enterprises
• Become familiar with lean tools for equipment reliability
• Learn to drive down costs, improve quality and productivity, create lasting cultural change and exceed customer expectations.

ISA members can register for only $630 per person, a 50 percent discount off the regular price of $1,260. Companies sending groups of two or more can receive even deeper discounts. For more information, visit www.leaninstruction.com/vegas.
