ISA names Value-Added Partner Award Winners
The association also recognizes the Value-Added Distributor, Value-Added Manufacturer and two American Eagle Corporate Citizenship Award winners.
The Industrial Supply Association (ISA) announced the winners of its American Eagle Value-Added Partner Award during the Industrial Supply Conference & Trade Fair in Las Vegas, May 21. The award recognizes the efforts of a manufacturer and distributor working together to add value to their end-user customers.
Winners of the 2007 award were metalworking lubricant manufacturer Hangsterfer’s Laboratories of Mantua, N.J., and distributor Major Tool Company of Knoxville, Tenn. They were recognized for their program that enabled DENSO Manufacturing Athens Tennessee (DMAT), to improve tool life and dramatically reduce hazardous waste by replacing a cleaning solvent and cutting oil with more environmentally friendly products. The cleaner replaced a hazardous chemical that generated over 14,000 lbs. of hazardous waste per year.

“We’re pleased to name Hangsterfer’s Laboratories and Major Tool winners of our American Eagle Value-Added Partner Award,” said Jim Miller, vice president for General Tool & Supply in Portland, Ore., chairperson of ISA’s Awards and Recognition Subcommittee. “We’re especially delighted to recognize these two ISA members not only for their ability to help a major automotive supplier improve productivity, but also to make a positive contribution toward improving the environment.”
In order to win the award, applicants were required to demonstrate exceptional documented cost savings or productivity improvements based on a single event or an annual program conducted with a channel partner.
“Winning this award will allow us to demonstrate to other customers how we can help them recycle their cleaning solution and reduce hazardous waste,” said Major Tool sales manager Kevin Wilson.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by our peers with this award,” said Hangsterfer’s director of sales Andrew Dubler. “This recognition will convince other people of the kinds of important, positive contributions that companies in the industrial distribution channel make not only in the U.S. economy but the global economy as well.”
