The Industrial Supply Association (ISA) is pleased to announce the selection of Fernley & Fernley of Philadelphia, Pa., as its management services provider beginning July 1, 2006. The association’s Board of Directors established a search committee in July that interviewed several professional trade association management firms before endorsing Fernley & Fernley. The ISA Board unanimously approved the selection in December 2005.

“We are excited about welcoming Fernley & Fernley to the ISA team. Combined with our existing talented staff of Executive Vice President John Buckley and Director of Membership Services Mary Ritchie, ISA members can continue to expect high levels of service, as well as access to expanded resources, drawing upon Fernley & Fernley’s collective 405 years of experience in the distribution marketplace,” said ISA President Tim Tevens.

Founded in 1886, Fernley & Fernley has the distinction of being the longest established association management firm in the industry. They have received accreditation by both the International Association of Association Management Companies (IAAMC) and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). They provide a variety of management services to 25 trade associations, including wholesale distribution associations such as the Association for High Technology Distribution, the Gases and Welding Distributors Association and the Security Hardware Distributors Association. For more than eight decades, the company also provided management services for the National Industrial Distributors Association, one of the predecessor organizations to today’s ISA.

Steve Short, ISA Vice President, expressed the attitudes of many of the Directors when he said, “We are excited about the special capabilities that Fernley brings to ISA in the areas of convention marketing and execution, membership development, database management and technology. These are the skill sets we need to better develop, and Fernley will help us make significant progress in those areas.”

Thomas Associates will continue to serve in its current role as management services provider until June 30, 2006, including coordination and planning of the Industrial Supply Conference & Trade Fair scheduled for May 20-22, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas.
