Ed GerberPHILADELPHIA, PA, AUGUST 4, 2016 — The Board of Directors of the Industrial Supply Association (ISA) today announced that it has elected Edward Gerber, formerly with Hagemeyer-Industrial Distribution Group (HNA-IDG) as its new President and CEO. Gerber will start his position September 2016.

“ISA is very fortunate to have Ed joining the organization,” John Wiborg, President of Stellar Industrial Supply and Chairman of the ISA Board, said. “We are certain that his experience, his contacts and relationships across the industry, and his enthusiasm for the ISA mission, will strengthen our future.”

“With Ed at the helm, I am confident we have put together a team that has the expertise needed to deliver strong forward momentum,” Craig Vogel, V.P. of Sales at Lenox and Immediate Past ISA Chairman, said.

Gerber is a 28-year veteran of the industrial supply industry, with experience on both the distribution and manufacturing side of the business. He is a proven leader with experience in operations, management, sales and marketing. Gerber was instrumental in the recent merger of the HNA-IDG organizations and most recently served as their Director of Sales for the Northeast and Western sales regions. Prior to the merger, Gerber served as IDG’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he led their transformation to a market leader in supply chain solutions that resulted in IDG’s unprecedented growth and profit performance. Prior to IDG, Gerber worked for the Sandvik group as V.P. of Sales for the Titex and Protoyp brands, as well as Director of Sales for Precision Twist Drill. Gerber has also served on the ISA Board of Directors and its executive committee. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005, then the Executive Committee in 2010. He served in every major leadership role on the executive committee, including secretary, treasurer, vice president and president of the association.

“I am excited for faster progress along the path ahead, confident in the direction of the Association, and delighted that Ed has stepped into this leadership role,” Wiborg said. “Ed Gerber brings vision, experience and focus. Our members and industry will benefit greatly because of his commitment to ISA.”

The ISA Board of Directors selected Gerber from other top candidates based on the passion and expertise he brings to the position. Gerber’s focus will be strengthening the Association’s role in the industry and growing the benefits it provides to its members.
