The Industrial Supply Association named Stellar Industrial Supply, Tacoma, Wash., and Sandvik Coromant, Fair Lawn, N.J., winners of the American Eagle Excellence in Industry Award at its 2016 Annual Convention.
The companies were recognized for their long-term commitment to delivering solutions and new technologies to establish a supplier-distributor relationship focused on continuous, consistent cost-savings and productivity improvements for customers.
In 2015, Sandvik Coromant and Stellar Industrial Supply established customer-driven metrics that resulted in revenue growth of 45 percent for Stellar Industrial’s sale of Sandvik Coromant products, $1.8 million in documented cost savings, and territory expansion supporting future growth.
“The partnership between Sandvik Coromant and Stellar Industrial Supply is innovative, with our long-tenured history of success, but willingness to change and invest in new ideas and technology to meet our customer demands,” said Tom Henry, manager of channel marketing for Sandvik Coromant.
During 2015, Stellar committed to having all of its metalworking specialists trained as Sandvik Coromant Certified Channel Partner Representatives to increase their technical and application skills. During the year, senior management from both companies met to plan, prepare and execute its plan of action, as field sales management reviewed plans throughout the year. As a result of these efforts, in January, 2016, Stellar awarded Sandvik Coromant its Supplier of the Year award, which is given to the supplier that demonstrates a strategic relationship and collaboration to a common purpose critical to delivering value to mutual customers.
